Deciding whether or not to board your dog can be a tough choice. We get it—we don’t like being away from our pups either! But rest assured that here at Friendly Paws, we treat your furry family member like part of our own family. To help make your decision a little easier, we’re addressing some common boarding myths.
Myth: My dog will be in a crate all day and won’t receive any attention.
Truth: Your pup will spend the day playing with friends, either outside or in our indoor/outdoor facility. If your dog is older and needs a quieter environment, we have a spacious room where they can relax with other senior dogs. For dogs who are "No Group Play," they’ll have time in a private play yard or be taken outside every hour for a potty break and some personal attention from our staff.
Myth: Kennel cough comes from staying at a kennel, so my dog will get sick.
Truth: Kennel cough can be contracted by any dog that comes into contact with another dog who has it—whether at a kennel, a dog park, or even on the street. It doesn’t originate in kennels but is brought in by an infected dog. Treating your dog with the Bordetella vaccination can help reduce the severity and spread of kennel cough. Myth: The kennel space will be too small for my dog.
Truth: We ensure your pup has plenty of space. No matter their size, your dog will always have ample room in their kennel. We also have larger kennels for siblings to comfortably relax together. Remember, your dog will only be in their space for meals and sleep; we make sure they get plenty of exercise throughout the day.
Myth: All dog boarding facilities are the same.
Truth: While there are many great kennels out there, not all match the quality of Friendly Paws Pet Resort. We are regularly inspected by the dog warden and consistently pass with flying colors. We take pride in providing your pup with everything they need for a comfortable home away from home.
Myth: Kennel-free boarding is better.
Truth: Your dog will spend lots of time with other dogs throughout the day. Having their own space allows them to eat meals quietly, settle down for the night, and get a good night’s sleep without interruption from other dogs.
Myth: My dog won’t sleep at night.
Truth: After a day full of stimulation, your pup will be ready for bed. With their own kennel space, they can snuggle up with their favorite blanket, toy, or anything else you’ve brought from home, ensuring they have a restful night.
At Friendly Paws Pet Resort, your dog’s comfort and well-being are our top priorities. We’re here to ensure they have a safe, fun, and restful experience while you’re away, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing your furry friend is in the best hands.
